Friendica uses the concept of 'Circles' to manage both privacy and feeds.

On the 'permissions' tab of a post within the Friendica UI, you can select the Circles that you want to share a post with.

If you want to share something with most of a community, you can also list any accounts that you specifically do not want to be able to see the post.

Under the hood, Friendica can speak to other Fediverse servers similarly to how gmail.com email servers can talk to outlook.com email servers. What this means is that you can use other social media platforms from within this one!

For example, lets say you want to interact with posts from a Lemmy Community (conceptually similar to a 'subreddit'). If you want to receive posts from a community directly in your feed, you can do so by adding a contact for `!communityname@lemmy.instance`. If you want to make a new post to that community, you can do so by tagging the user `!communityname@lemmy.instance`.

You can browse Lemmy Communities by going to individual instances in your web browser (sh.itjust.works and lemmy.world being two of the larger english speaking instances). If you find a Community you like, it is highly recommended that you add it as a contact as described above because it allows you to see multiple different Lemmy Communities within your feed, without having to browse multiple separate sites for updates from specific communities/groups.

If you're having trouble using parts of GigglezNet, you can search Friendica for the #giggleznettips tag to find posts from GigglezNet users and administrators on how to use GigglezNet.

Want to help out? Have a tip on 'how to do something cool' with GigglezNet that you want to share? Make a post including the tag #giggleznettips, and include tags to indicate what parts of GigglezNet you're talking about - if enough people find it useful, it will be added to the GigglezNet Community Tips Message Board!

Please don't use the #giggleznettips tag on Public posts - tips specific to GigglezNet may not apply to other users of the Fediverse, and may therefore create confusion for them.
